Four day weekend

You must blog about the following topic before 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2012. All of your blogs must be at least five sentences in length, have no spelling errors, and use appropriate capital letters and punctuation. This is a school blog!

Here is this week's topic: Your four day weekend!

My four day weekend consisted of going to my Grandma's house on my mom's side on Thursday. After my grandmas, I went to my boyfriend's grandmas house for a dinner as well. On Friday, I woke up at ten in the morning and David drove me to Toledo to meet my mom for some black Friday shopping. I bought a dress for sub deb at Macy's. After shopping I went to my Grandma's on my Dad's side. On Saturday, I went to the lights before Christmas at the Toledo Zoo. Sunday was just a day of relaxation. David helped me re-arrange my room and I watched the "Walking Dead".

Thanksgiving

What does Thanksgiving mean to you? Where do you go? What special kinds of food do you eat? Is there a tradition in your family about Thanksgiving? Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving to me means giving thanks for all the things that I have. Health, family, and friends. Also, I give thanks for the blessings I have in my life such as getting accepted into a college, having good grades, having a home and clothes on my back. I usually go to my grandmas with my family. My moms mother is usually Thanksgiving day, and my dads mother is usually the following day on Friday. The special kinds of food that I eat is ham, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. The tradition in my family is someone always writes out a prayer to pray at the dinner table. One person decides to have the prayer every year. We have the prayer to thank God for the things we are thankful for. We celebrate Thanksgiving because Christopher Columbus and the pilgrims found America.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day to me means paying respect to the men and women who served in the military to protect our country. We recognize veterans because me as an individual do not have the strength or the courage to join the military and put my life on the line for my country. Those who do have that courage, deserve recognition. This is important because those who never got the recognition during Vietnam deserve it now including the ones who are in the service currently. I am not interested in joining the military but I'm use to the lifestyle. My grandpa, my aunt, my dad and now my boyfriend have all been in the military. To serve your country means to earn your title as a military personnel. I have never participated in a Veterans Day parade.

Election

If I could vote, I would vote for Romney. I would vote for him because of his plan to keep the troops in Afghanistan. I believe the troops need to stay over there for our protection. If Obama wins, he plans to bring the troops home and if that happens, it will seem to Afghanistan as if we are retreating and they will come to the U.S. One of Romney's proposals is to get rid of the certain insurance companies and make them so they don't have to pay for the birth control. I agree with this because if we only had the certain companies that would pay for the birth control, our country would save money and the money wouldn't come out of the tax payers money. The commercials on the radio drive me crazy. I listen to one song and the minute the songs stops, they play both a Romney commercial and an Obama commercial telling me why I should vote for one or the other. I just can't wait for the election to be over with and for all of the political talk to stop.
