Graduation

Honestly, I'm ready to graduate but it's going to be bittersweet. I'm going to miss this school and the people in it. I grew up with most of these kids since I was in first grade. All my memories as a kid were with 90% of Sand Creek students. I'm going to miss some of the teachers and seeing everyone that I know every day. Growing up is nice because you get responsibilities and you learn a sense of independence. Going to college is going to change my life. Getting an education to provide my family food on the table in the future. I plan on going to Jackson Community College for my first two years to get a degree in Criminal Justice. After my two years I will most likely transfer. I wish all the underclassmen good luck with the rest of their high school days and I will miss you all. <3

Cinco de Mayo!

Cinco de Mayo—or the fifth of May—commemorates the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). A relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations. Cinco de Mayo traditions include parades, mariachi music performances and street festivals in cities and towns across Mexico and the United States. I think the mexican heritage should celebrate considering America had nothing to do with it. It shouldn't become a national holiday because we weren't apart of it.

As far as no homework day goes, I don't know who came up with it, but teachers arent gonna take that as an excuse so you're going to have to end up doing your homework anyway. I didn't celebrate in it because I didn't want to lose points for some stupid made up holiday.

Prom!

To me, prom is the best memories I have. This year was my last year for prom and I went with my boyfriend, David. I had a group of my friends that met at my house around 5. There was my date and me, McKenna and Zac, Shelby Noffsinger and Thomas, Shelby Brinninstool and Nate, and Courtney and Jason. We all me at my house to take pictures at five. Zac was about 45 minutes late, and we ate at the Golden Corral. My boyfriend and me went to my grandmas house for pictures before dinner, and after dinner we went to my aunts house. My little cousins thought I looked like a princess. After pictures at my Aunts, we left for the prom. We got there at 9 even though it started at 8. We danced to almost every song and it was SO hot. After prom, we went to Tim Horton's for coffee so I could stay up until 5. We went back to my house to change for after prom and met back at the school by 1. I rode the mechanical bull, took pictures with my friends in the photo booth, and crawled through the big blow up obstacle coarse. At 4 we started prizes and my name never even got called. I ended up with 25 free golf balls. We left the school around 5 and made it back to Davids around 5:45 and I fell asleep as soon as I got home.

Earth Day!

Celebrating Earth Day is important to the environment. Planting trees is important and to me, it means giving us as humans cleaner air to breathe. I planted trees a few years ago for Earth Day. Something I didn't know about Earth Day was that it started in 1970. Another fact is that Sen. Gaylord Nelson, a democrat from Wisconsin, came up with the idea for Earth Day in 1969. By 1990, Earth Day was celebrated across the glob by 10 times as many people - 200 million. We should recycle as much as possible on that day and plant baby trees. One per person.

Violence on TV

Vioelence on TV can affect a child. If a young kid is watching a violent show, that may cause them to think that it's ok for them to go and have an act of vioelence against a kid at school, or their siblings. I think that if they're going to have violent shows on TV, broadcasting them a certain time of day isn't going to affect weather or not a kid will watch it. There's DVR now where it can be recorded and a kid can go into the recordings and watch it then. The only way you can really prevent a kid from seeing a restricted show is by putting a password lock on the channel and recordings. I think TV shows have violence in them to attract the viewers. The walking dead is vioelent and young kids shouldn't watch it. I think 16 year olds and older should watch this show. Even I get grossed out at some points of the show.

Cheaters Never Win

If I saw a friend cheating, I would just let them get in trouble by themselves. I feel that karma is stronger than you telling on them. If someone wants to cheat, they'll get in trouble some time. Telling on them wouldn't do anything except start drama and get you in the middle of drama with that person. I wouldn't even confront them about it because it's their lives. Not mine. If they want to cheat that's their problem.

Harlem Shake

The Harlem shake is basically a video where it starts out with one person in the beginning just by himself dancing, and when it says "do the harlem shake" everyone breaks out in crazy dance moves for like 30 seconds and goes crazy. I think it's hilarious but some of them are weird. I would participate in a Harlem shake but as long as I didn't get in trouble at school. The harlem shake is the top most searched topic on youtube a bunch of people do their own interpretations of it.

Testing! Testing! Testing!

I think testing in school is important because it does train you and you get practice to take exams in college. Education isn't heavily relied on testing but it does take up a good majority of it. If there weren't any tests in school, there would be a lot of higher grades but no one would really pay close attention and study. Memorizing the criteria for tests is what makes you remember and further your knowledge. Teachers wouldn't know if you grasped their topic because homework is different than testing. Homework you can use your book or take it home and work on it there. Tests is completely relying on your ability to remember and memorize the criteria. I think standardized testing is important for those who will go to college. I think there's a fair standardized test for everyone because some people don't take the same classes as others. I personally am not a good test taker. I have poor memorization. I am that person that "just doesn't do well on tests" so I do struggle with them but I do understand that they are important.

Top Four

The top four most important things in my life are Family, Friends, School and Religion. My family is the most important because that's my own flesh and blood. Those are the people that make up my life and the people that are always there for me. My parents are obviously the people who created me and my little brother is my best friend. My friends mean a lot to me because I spend the most time with them. My best friend is Mckenna and I wouldn't know what to do without her. My boyfriend is also important because he's been through everything with me and he's my other half. My friends make me who I am and the people that I surround myself with the most. School is important because without it, I wouldn't be able to go to college and get a job and get money to live. Religion is the utmost important to me because that's my faith and without it, I would have no rock or solid dependence on anything.

Popular President

I think George Washington had the greatest impact on the world. He was the very first president and set the bar for how the country should be ran. He was the first president to have to follow the declaration of independents and every other president would go off of how he did as president. The hardest thing about being president would be passing or rejecting laws. No matter what you do, someone is going to disagree with you. I would never want to be president. Personally, it's too much responsibility and stress for me. If I were to run for president, My campaign pitch would be to lessen the percentage of obese people and reduce the food amount in fast food restaruants.I would also lower the gas prices.

Charity Event!

If I had an extra $10,000 to give away, i would give the money to the local humane society. I'm actually interested in the ASPCA and plan on persuing a career through the humane society and being an animal cop. The money would help with money problems and could give the animals new cages or more f0od. The more money the better. Animals, to me, are as equal as humans. I would be just as upset if I lost one of my animals compared to if I lost a family member. My pets are very important to me and even seeing other stray animals hurt or abondaned just breaks my heart. So I would donate the money to them so they can have a better life and be taken care of properly for the time period before they get adopted.

I want out of here!

Right now I would want to be at a beach in the virgin islands. I love the beach and the warm sun and cool water would feel really good right now. The gloomy dark snowy days are getting old and I want warm, sunny whether so I can lay out on the beach, get a tan, jump in the water and have fun in the sun. I miss the warm days and I miss not having school so a good break from school in a warm, sunny place would be amazing. I would have to save some money for a plane ticket and I would obviously take some friends but I'm sick of the cold snow. I haven't taken a vacation in a while and the last place I went was California. That was warm as well. I definitely want out of here!

Bug Out!

If i was an insect, I would be a dragon fly. Dragonfly's aren't ugly, and not a lot of people want to kill them. They're fast flyer's so I could get away fast. Dragonfly's also have pretty wings and are small so they can hide in small places. If I was a dragonfly, I would live near a lake on a flower.

Travel Anywhere!

If I were to travel anywhere in the world, i would travel to the virgin islands. It's warm, there's friendly people there, and I've never been there before. The environment is great and I would love to see all the different interesting tourast attractrions. I want to swim in the warm, clear blue water. I want to swim with the dolphins and see the penguins at the zoo.

Vacation Time!

Over winter break I had a busy week during the 22nd and 27th. I had my birthday on the 22nd and had a lot of my family over. The rest of the week it felt like I had a Christmas party every day up until the 25th. I had another family party on the 27th with my moms side of the family. New Years was a long night. I drank sparkling cranberry juice and watched the ball drop with my boyfriend and his family friends. After New Years I had to return a lot of clothes that I got from family and I also had a big shopping trip from all the money I got from birthday and Christmas. I got a new iPhone for my birthday so that was pretty cool. My boyfriend took me sledding at the country club and Mckenna and I attempted to go sledding but when we actually arrived at the hill, I realized I completely forgot to even pack the sleds so we just went to Taco Bell. My New Years resolution is to stay on track in school and get in shape for track season. I will keep the resolution because I'll be working out and running after school and at home.
